A branch of my research focuses on the development and application of a general theory (tau theory) of movement guidance. Projects that I am involved include: neural control of the muscles and information variables in the nervous system, and guided reaching and grasping in adults and young infants. Related projects are developmental co-ordination disorder, movement impairment in Parkinson’s disease, co-ordination in golf, cricket, and tennis, and sensory guidance of movement in micro-organisms and musical performance skills.
